Athlinks: The Go-To online platform to claim race results

I’ve been running races for over 20 years, long before social media was a “thing” and even before I even owned a mobile phone! In my early days of racing, I didn’t really know how to keep a record of my finishing times other than to just write them down somewhere. But thanks to the online platform, Athlinks, I can now revisit my past results and track how I have progressed over the years!

What is Athlinks?

Athlinks is the ultimate online results tracker where you can view, save and share every finish time for ever finish line you have crossed, no matter the distance!  Athlinks.com (and the Athlinks app for iOS and Android) is a comprehensive resource for athletes to connect with friends, compete with rivals, discover new challenges and races, and enjoy a connected, consistent race experience.

How does it work?

1.     Create a profile at Athlinks.com. You can find mine here

My Athlinks Profile! I love how it shows my PBs at the top. :-)

All you need to set up an account is your email, your date of birth and location. If you have changed locations over the years, no worries! You can still search my your name and birthdate. I wasn’t sure my results for the races I have run in Ireland would show up, but they did!

2.     Claim your race results!

Check the name to make sure it's yours. None of these results are actually me so I just hid them. Hopefully their rightful owner will find them soon!

Once you create a profile, Athlinks will automatically show you possible results to claim. You can filter the search by adding your birth year to your name. That helped me as there were lots of “Laura Mullins” out there! Claim the results that are yours and they will be added to your profile. If you would rather not have a race shown publicly, no problem! You don’t have to claim every race you ran. For me, my slowest marathon was London 2017. I had to walk the last 10 miles due to a chest infection. While some people may not like their slowest time to be shown, I am proud that I finished that race and love to have the record of it as a reminder of what I accomplished that day.

These were some of my actual results that I claimed through Athlinks.

3.     Add your name to races you will be running in 2018

Let your friends and rivals know what your race schedule is for 2018. You can enter your goal time for future races so your friends can cheer you along the way! I added the Rome Marathon to my Start List. I can see other Athlinks members who will be running it as well!

4.     Follow your friends (and even your rivals)

I LOVE that I can just log onto one platform and see what races my friends are planning to run. Maybe knowing a friend or fellow BibRave Pro is running a certain race will inspire me to join them there. Because running friends make the best friends, don’t they?!

5.     Don’t forget to follow Athlinks on Instagram and Twitter to keep up with the latest news!
